Strictly Come Dancing 2022 LIVE: Fans all saying same thing as fan favourite dumped & Will Mellor cruises to safety

STRICTLY'S Ellie Taylor is the latest celebrity to be dumped from the show after a tense dance-off against Fleur East in Sunday's show.

Strictly Come Dancing stars Will Mellor topped the leaderboard with his opening Charleston routine, performed with Nancy Xu - with the pair scooping 38.

Helen and Gorka and Ellie and Johannes found themselves in the bottom two after scoring 29 and 25 a piece - but the Countryfile presenter managed to escape the bottom two.

The public decided Ellie & Johannes would face Fleur & Vito for the dreaded dance-off - with their places in the Quarter Final at risk.

But it was Ellie that the judges sent home, with the comedian saying: “It has and it’s been, I’m going to be a cliché machine now, but it’s been everything and more. I never in a million years expected to be in for this long and to experience it so fully."

  • Remember these memorable Blackpool moments?

Blackpool has provided some memorable Strictly moments over the years, including former shadow chancellor Ed Balls’ entrance in 2016.

The former MP was lowered from the ceiling playing a piano before taking to the dancefloor to jive with Katya Jones.

Another standout dance saw Ann Widdecombe do the samba alongside professional partner Anton Du Beke, both dressed in bright yellow, with the former Tory MP earning the night’s lowest score of 13 out of 40, in 2010.

  • What did the judges say about Will Mellor’s performance?

Head judge Shirley Ballas said: “Every single thing worked for you today.”

Anton Du Beke said it was Mellor’s best performance of the series.

The c+Corrie star exited the floor with a strong score of 38 points.

  • Craig said Helen’s Dance was ‘rigid’

Helen Skelton closed this week’s Strictly Come Dancing live show with a samba to Eso Beso by Emma Bunton.

The presenter, 39, received mixed feedback from the judges, with Craig Revel Horwood saying: “This was very rigid. It was very straight, it was very wooden, there was no bounce.”

Motsi Mabuse said: “You guys put a lot of work in there and that is the feeling of the samba.”

Shirley Ballas added: “I thought for the samba being a difficult dance, you did it well.”

Skelton secured a score of 29.

  • Fans gutted as Strictly leaker strikes again

One wrote: “Absolutely gutted with this result.”

"His torso gets my vote every week. No idea if Helen is a good dancer or not," wrote one fan.

Another joked: "Gorka really giving the gals, gays and theys what they want"

"Gorka knows how to get the votes from us Mums," said a third.

A second said: "Makes me smile every Saturday night. How amazing for your kids to see what a talented dancer you have become.

Another added: "Have the kids visit you every week, would be my suggestion."

  • Strictly cut short this evening in massive shake up

Strictly fans will be deprived of its usual Sunday offering this evening, as the FIFA World Cup continues to dominate the airwaves.

This is to make way for the football match between Spain and Germany which kicks off at 1pm.

  • Tyler reflects on his time on Strictly after dumping

Reflecting on his time on the show, West said: “I’m more than a two-step now! When you watch the show at home, you wonder what it must be like to dance on it, it’s everything and more, it’s changed my life.

“This girl here has changed my life, for sure. To think I was some shy kid who never used to talk to anyone, to dancing in front of millions, I can’t put it into words.

“It’s my mum’s favourite show, I bought her to Blackpool, my nan, bless her, was always watching over me on this journey.

“But, more importantly, this show has changed my life in the sense it’s given me confidence, a new-found family, every dancer, everyone in hair and make-up, costume.

“The judges, it’s been amazing to dance in front of you every week, I genuinely mean that.

Turning to Buswell, he added: “This girl here, I have been blessed with the best, she is what Strictly is about and she’s changed my life, I have no doubt she will be in in my life forever.”

"It’s hard balancing it with my other jobs, as I’m filming Waterloo Road at the moment too and presenting  Morning Live.
