Sophie, Countess of Wessex, donned an army uniform as she visited the home of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) in Wiltshire on Wednesday. The Countess seemed to fit in well wearing a camouflage jacket and khaki jeans along with chunky boots.
During her visit, she met with officers and soldiers at the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering and School of Army Aeronautical Engineering.
The Queen's daughter-in-law was also invited to watch a vehicle recovery exercise.
There was also a chance to see how the technical training received is translated into operational effect.
The Countess also unveiled a plaque, giving the REME technical workshops and offices a new name - The Countess of Wessex Lines.

Colonel Jason Phillips ADC, Colonel REME said that the Countesses visit had been a "truly special day".
He said: "It was a great honour to welcome our Colonel-in-Chief, HRH The Countess of Wessex, for her first visit to Lyneham.
"This has been a truly special day for the many members of the REME Family who met with and talked to HRH.
"She saw everything from recovery training to avionics repair and additive manufacturing."

Lieutenant Colonel Edward Wigmore, Commanding Officer, 5 Force Support (FS) Battalion REME said that the corps had been "extremely lucky" to welcome the royal.
He said: "Today we’ve been extremely lucky to welcome Her Royal Highness to the Battalion where we’ve demonstrated our peoples’ unique and specialist capabilities.
"The visit culminated with HRH naming our new home The Countess of Wessex Lines and completes our unit move to MOD Lyneham, the home of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers."
In March the Countess had met with Master General REME Lieutenant General Paul Jaques CB CBE and Colonel REME Colonel Jason Phillips in order to formally receive her honorary title.

The royal was appointed by the late Queen a day after Prince Philip's memorial service.
It is believed that the late monarch and the Countess had a particularly strong friendship.
The Duke of Edinburgh served as Colonel-in-Chief of the Corps for more than 50 years after taking over from Princess Marina, The Duchess of Kent.
Over the years the Duke visited the corps many times.
The Countess also has a number of other positions in the military.
In 2007 she became Royal Colonel of 5th Battalion The Rifles and is also colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Corps of Army Music and of Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps.
