A prison officer has been jailed for battering a 'well behaved inmate' so badly he shattered his hand.
Jack Kerrison repeatedly hit the prisoner with both fists on the head leaving a nasty wound that required hospital treatment.
Kerrison stormed into the inmate's cell in Hull Prison, where he was sitting in a plastic chair, and accused him of being a "cheeky little c***" before launching the unprovoked attack.

The 27-year-old was then said to have tried to "concoct" a pack of lies and make other prison officers back them up, Hull Crown Court heard.
He tried to get his colleagues to "stick to the story" and that he would "owe them" if they backed up his account.
Kerrison "concocted a story" that he had trapped his hand in a gate when he was responding to an alarm, and denied any knowledge of the assault, and how the bleeding started.
After continuing to give false stories, including lying to two senior officers, Kerrison finally admitted assaulting the prisoner, causing actual bodily harm, on June 16 last year.

Charlotte Baines, prosecuting, said there was an incident involving other officers restraining a prisoner on the floor and other inmates were given an "all away" signal to return to their cells.
Kerrison shouted to one prisoner to get into his cell, which he was already doing, but aggressively followed it up with, "If you've got a f***ing problem with that, we can go to the room" - a reference to another room on the other side of the landing.
The prisoner said he did not have a problem and he thought that this would be the end of it.
"The defendant stormed into the cell, headed straight to him, lifted his right hand up and, with a clenched fist, drew it back," said Miss Baines.
The prisoner felt blows on top of his head in quick succession as Kerrison hit him with both fists six or eight times, although another officer estimated that there were up to 10 blows.
The cellmate heard Kerrison say "cheeky little c***" to the man when he stormed into the cell.
The victim was left dizzy and realised that his head was bleeding, with blood dripping on the cell floor, and required hospital treatment.
Kerrison was seen shaking his hand as if it hurt and was found to have fractured a bone.
Ismael Uddin, mitigating, said Kerrison suffered a momentary loss of control.
"He was in a position of trust and he let someone down badly." said Mr Uddin.
Kerrison, who had no previous convictions, had said: "I am someone who is supposed to keep them safe.
"I have abused my position of trust."
Recorder Gurdial Singh told Kerrison: "You were expected to protect and look after them (inmates) and deal with them in accordance with your role."
"You went in there and carried out an entirely unlawful, unjustified repeat assault on a defenceless victim.
"Kerrison did everything he could to avoid responsibility for his 'cowardly behaviour' and the fact that he fractured his own hand showed the level of force used.
"We simply can't have, with impunity, prison officers attacking inmates," said Recorder Singh.
Kerrison was jailed for 18 months.
