OnePlus 10T review: This phone can charge 0-100% in 19 minutes

The last time OnePlus released a 'T' branded smartphone was in October 2020 when it announced the OnePlus 8T.

The Chinese company's approach to his T phone is an iterative refinement of the numerical headlines. In this case, the OnePlus 10 Pro released in March.

So if you're a 10 Pro (or 9 Pro) owner, rest assured you won't miss anything and can skip this update.

In fact, it's hard for the casual observer to see the big difference between the 10T and the 10 Pro. But there it is if you look closely

Rather than the 10 Pro's curved display, the 10T has a flat 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It doesn't look very attractive in my opinion, but it's easy to type in. The panel is flat, but the edges of the device remain curved.

Unfortunately, while it looks like the 10 Pro, it's actually a slightly different size. This means that if he decides to switch, he won't be able to fit the 10 Pro case onto his 10T phone.

The protruding camera ridge is more integrated by the glossy "Jade Green" Gorilla Glass 5 that extends across the back of the phone than on the 10 Pro. The latter camera system felt bolted on in a much more industrial fashion.

Perhaps the biggest design change was that the notification slider on the right side of the phone was replaced with It's gone. This little physical switch has become a staple of OnePlus handsets, allowing you to quickly go into silent mode.

OnePlus told me the reason they removed the Switch was pretty simple: to save space. The company has faced some backlash against this decision, and claims it hasn't done away with it entirely. is safe.

Why is OnePlus interested in freeing up space? Because all the features of this phone are inside.

Prioritizing speed and power above all else, OnePlus has equipped the OnePlus 10T with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip. This is the best processor in an Android phone to date. Its power is backed by 8 GB of RAM in the 'Moonstone Black' version and 16 GB of RAM in the 'Jade Green' sample I tested.

In terms of storage capacity, the former is up to 128 GB and the latter is 256 GB. I'd recommend paying extra for an upgraded version if possible, 128GB fills up quickly if the microSD slot isn't available and you install a big game or shoot a lot of video footage

OnePlus uses the latest Qualcomm processors, which makes the price of the 10T competitive. The entry-level black 8/128 model is priced at £629, while the 16/256 green model comes SIM-free for £729. These are very affordable for what you're getting and seem to harken back to the days when OnePlus swooped in and beat out rivals like Samsung and Apple. means that with that level of power under the hood, you can run the most demanding apps and games without stuttering. In fact, you can run up to 30 apps simultaneously in your device's memory, skipping back and forth between apps without any discernible delay.

The screen automatically adjusts between his 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz to save power, so you can happily switch between apps like WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, and then play like FIFA mobile. I jumped into a game that uses a lot of graphics. The display also offers 10-bit color and full HDR10+, so graphics look incredibly rich and detailed.

But to sum up his experience with the OnePlus 10T for me, nothing beats battery charge. Keeping the phone running is a 4,800mAh battery that spans two cells. There is a lot of cooling going on inside to make sure the 10T runs as smoothly as possible. OnePlus says you can get 26 hours of use on a single charge. We found that at maximum usage (gaming, streaming, brightness up, activating Bluetooth connectivity, etc.) we were able to wear it out in less than a day.

But when it comes time to plug in, 10T's party trick comes out.

Plugged into the included 150W 'SuperVoc' charger via USB-C, the phone boots up in a blazingly fast 19 minutes. That's right: 0 to 100% in 20 minutes. 0-50% in just 8 minutesThe problem is the lack of wireless charging.

And that situation sums up the phone a bit for me. Ultimately, the performance and usability are less than the ultimate power offered by a single laser focused method. I would prefer it to be wider. The argument is that charging the 10T this fast means you don't have to plug it in as often, but you also have to remember to take your charging brick with you either way it's very fast like this The OnePlus engineer who came up with the charge should wear a hat.

A final area of minor concern is the triple lens camera system. Good, no doubt. But not as good as the similarly priced Pixel 6.

OnePlus opted for a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens instead of the 10 Pro's telephoto lens. Also, Hasselblad wasn't involved with his 10T, so you won't find evidence of the legendary camera maker's input when it comes to filters and features.

The photos ejected by 10T are colorful and detailed, if not spectacular. There's no telephoto lens, so if you want to get close to your subject without moving your feet, you'll need to use digital zoom.

Like his OnePlus phones before, it has a night mode at sunset. The low-light photos I took were very good at filling in gaps in darkness, removing noise, and bringing out detail.

It seems a little wasted.

Take a look at some images below to see the OnePlus 10T's camera performance.

Is the OnePlus 10T a good buy? That's if you're looking for just one thing. It's the most power you can get at an affordable price. It's good value for money if you just want to run power-hungry apps, enjoy a great screen, and marvel at wired charging. The alert slider, wireless charging, and lack of official IP waterproofing might be a concern for those who want a well-rounded gadget. There is none.

If OnePlus is all about speed in its 'T' devices, it's totally succeeded with the OnePlus 10T. Unfortunately, it seems that modern smartphone customers want more thanmere performance when considering purchases that are likely to be used daily over the next 2, 3, 4 years. I feel
