Every couple in a long-term relationship experiences major life milestones together, and out of all the moments you get to share, getting pregnant and popping the engagement question are two of the biggest. These life-changing events should be filled with joy and love, but one man has been left devastated by the news that his pregnant fiancee was his brother's mistress before they both met - a secret she's kept for six years.
The couple were about to get married when the man was struck by the heart-breaking revelation, and now he's unsure whether he can go ahead with the wedding. Although the affair happened before the man met his fiancee, he's incredibly hurt that both the woman he loves and his brother kept it hidden throughout their relationship.

Taking to Reddit to desperately seek advice, the man explained that his fiancee's family are strictly religious, so didn't approve of the couple getting pregnant before marriage. Now the wedding has been 'rushed' through, the man is left with a difficult ultimatum.
He said: "My fiancee and I have been together for two and a half years, and have been engaged for 5 months. We both anticipated a longer engagement period but recently we found out that she was pregnant".
When the couple shared their engagement news on social media, a friend reached out to deliver the heart-shattering news: "He said that he has recently become friends with somebody who used to date my fiancee's roommate. Let's call that friend John and the roommate Nicole.
"When our wedding posts were being shared, Nicole found it popping up in her feeds. Nicole and my fiancee gradually lost touch after their 15 month lease together ended but both her and John lost their minds when they realized that her former roommate was marrying the brother of the man she was having an affair with 6 years ago.

Getty Images)Struggling to process the bombshell revelation, the fiancee continued: "John asks my friend how I can deal with marrying my brother's ex mistress and if I even knew. My good friend said he needed to bring this to me because he knew I had no idea".
The friend then reveals that John has photo evidence, so the fiancee asked him to share it: "He texts back quickly and sends me a screenshot of a Snapchat of my fiancee kissing my brother taken by Nicole without them knowing".
Just when things couldn't get much worse, John also has screenshots of texts messages between the man's fiancee and Nicole where the bride-to-be slams his brother's wife.
"[There were] texts about hating my now 10 year old niece because my brother says he's only staying with his wife for his daughter," he admitted.
The heartbroken man confronts his brother about the affair, and despite denying it to begin with, he comes clean when the man reveals the evidence. "He was always the guy I idolized and almost like a second parent to me. I asked him how he could do this."

Getty Images)In another shocking twist, the brother admits that his wife knows he had an affair, but doesn't know who it was with, so begs the man not to tell her.
"I look him in the eye and ask if there was anything between them still and he denies it, saying it lasted a year and a half. He told me to please not tell his wife and repeated over and over again. 'I'm a father.. I'm a father... think of your niece'".
Both the fiancee and the man's brother claim that they were at a low point in their lives when they met, but the wife-to-be insists that she wants to make things work with her partner.
"She told me we have our child coming and she loves me. She begged me not to cancel the wedding because her parents would 100 percent disown her if they knew the reason".
After asking people for advice on the Reddit post, hundreds of commenters offered their thoughts on the situation in the hope to help him out.
One person pointed out: "She begged you not to cancel the wedding because of what her parents would think. Not because she loves you and wants to live a life with you, but because of her parents reaction..?"
Another commenter pondered: "How did you meet her? Are you sure it wasn't some sort of set-up by her to remain close to your brother?"
A third person said: "Your brother not telling you was particularly loathsome and her not much better. The horrible thing is that you can't trust them. You need to call off your wedding and have time to think".
