Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP blitzed rivals before and can again at Ascot – after King Charles gets first royal win

TEMPLEGATE takes on a massive Saturday of action confident of banging in a fair few winners.

Read on for our man's top tips and back a horse by clicking their odds below.

EQUALITY (4.45 Ascot, nap)

He was impressive when winning a hot Haydock sprint by more than three lengths last time.

Charlie Hills keeps him in the same grade here and he looks capable of improving again.

GALE FORCE MAYA (3.00 Ascot, nb)

She has been winning for fun at Listed level and looks dangerous again.

She was impressive when following a York success with another game victory at Ayr. This trip is ideal and all ground suits.

HAMISH (2.25 Ascot, treble)

He is fresh from his personal best second in the Irish St Leger earlier this month when he pushed superstar Kyprios all the way.

His only other run this season saw him take the Ormonde Stakes at Chester with a bit in hand.

He drops in distance here, but he should be fine with that, and is the class horse in the race.

Templegate's ITV Racing verdicts for Saturday

ASCOT

1.51

KING’S LYNN has had a break since his midfield run in the Platinum Jubilee at the Royal meeting and the fact he was in that race at all speaks volumes.

He is best over this trip and has scored in a higher grade. He can strike for the King and deliver the first royal winner since Elizabeth II's passing.

Manaccan took a Donny Listed contest before going down in a bunch finish in hot company at Newbury.

HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON HORSE RACING

He scored over course and distance in August and looks a big danger.

Tis Marvellous took this 12 months ago and has a strong track record. He should be pretty fresh on just his fifth run of the season and can hit the frame.

Acklam Express clocked a big personal best when third in the King’s Stand here. He’s been hit and miss since but could bounce back.

2.25

HAMISH is fresh from his personal best second in the Irish St Leger earlier this month when he pushed superstar Kyprios all the way.

His only other run this season saw him take the Ormonde Stakes at Chester with a bit in hand.

He drops in distance here, but he should be fine with that, and is the class horse in the race.

Euchen Glen can run well at a decent price. He was good second in an Ayr Listed contest two Saturdays ago and moving up a quarter-mile is in his favour.

High Definition hasn’t won since his two-year-old campaign but he’s taking a drop in class here.

He was well beaten at Longchamp latest and has a bit to prove.

Cresta zoomed away from his rivals to take a Listed race at Windsor last month and, as a three-year-old, should have more to offer.

This trip should be ideal and he ran well at the Royal meeting here.

Candleford won on his last run here and that is an asset as he goes up in class today.

3.00

GALE FORCE MAYA has been winning for fun at Listed level and looks dangerous again.

She was impressive when following a York success with another game victory at Ayr. This trip is ideal and all ground suits.

Stablemate Commanche Falls was second in the Ayr Gold Cup and is an obvious threat.

Al Suhail is interesting dropping back from his usual 7f. He is a Group 2 winner over that trip and has plenty of class and he could make this a stamina test from the front.

Rohaan more than held his own in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup earlier this month and won the Wokingham over course and distance.

The slight worry is the ground as he seems to like it rattling but he can’t be ignored.

Ehraz was last seen running well in the Commonwealth Cup in June and Richard Hannon will have him fit.

Flaming Rib was second in that and ran well at Haydock latest. He won’t be far away.

3.36

FRESH is proving to be a top campaigner over this specialists’ course and distance.

He took the International Stakes here in July before following up in another hot contest last time.

He came from a long way back to win that and it was an impressive effort. He has every chance from just 1lb higher.

Orbaan finished like a train into second after a typical troubled passage at Goodwood latest.

He would have won in another stride and must be a danger.

Rhoscolyn was just behind in that race and has an each-way chance.

Blue For You is a major player after a big personal best when scoring in a big field at York. That was over a mile but he likes this trip too.

Mums Tipple is in fine form and could hit the frame again.

Silent Film chased home Fresh last time and looks the pick of the Appleby pair.

NEWMARKET

1.31

I’LL BE THERE looked a nice prospect when winning on handicap debut at Sandown earlier this month.

She travelled strongly despite the testing ground and there’s a lot more to come for in-form trainer George Boughey as she goes up in distance.

Al Husn is a big threat after scoring here two Saturdays ago. A 6lb rise shouldn’t stop her going close again with this longer trip looking likely to suit.

There was a lot to like about the way Crystal Estrella lost her maiden tag at Goodwood.

Sir Michael Stoute’s filly hasn’t run since that May success but she should do herself justice.

Something Enticing’s best form has come over this trip and she’s had a wind op since her poor Haydock run.

2.06

SKYSAIL looked decent when winning in a big field at Newbury last time.

He saw out this trip well and it was comfortable. He has his sights raised here but should have a lot more to come on his third run.

Amichi is the obvious danger after he beat 17 rivals on the July course last time.

That built on a solid Kempton win. He has to give weight away but sets the form standard.

Clipsham La Habana looks a huge price given he showed promise in third on debut at Kempton last time despite looking green.

He has top Irish pilot Chris Hayes on board and can outrun his odds.

Prairie Falcon is much more battle-hardened than most of these and landed an Ayr handicap over this distance latest.

He’s right in the mix under William Buick.

Safari Dream has been first past the post on his past three runs, although he did lose his Sandown win in the stewards’ room.

That form is all over 5f but he’d be a big threat if staying.

Union Court held her own in Listed company at Ayr and is another going up in trip with a chance.

Woolhampton was beaten by Amichi last time but has a Listed place on her CV so can’t be dismissed.

2.42

HOMELESS SONGS can land this classy contest for Irish legend Dermot Weld.

This daughter of Frankel won the Irish 1,000 Guineas by more than five lengths in May and looked destined for great things.

Weld has been reluctant to run her on quick ground and she wasn’t seen again until a rusty fourth in the Matron at Leopardstown earlier this month.

She’ll be fitter now and can show her true form.

Saffron Beach won this 12 months ago and was ahead of the tip in Ireland.

She landed a French Group 1 after winning the Duke Of Cambridge in June and trip and track are ideal.

She handles any ground and has every chance of defending her crown.

Laurel takes a huge leap in grade from a Kempton maiden but the Gosdens know what they are doing.

Prosperous Voyage won the Falmouth here in July and can bounce back from a poor run in France last time.

REDCAR

3.21

BAREFOOT ANGEL can keep up Richard Fahey’s excellent record in this race.

She stepped out of maiden company to win the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde at Ayr last time.

She saw out this trip strongly there and has more to come after just three runs.

Cold Case won a big sales race at Donny on the nod last time after going from the front.

She was a solid Group 2 second at York before that and can go close again.

Maylandsea was second in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and wasn’t disgraced in the Cheveley Park at Newmarket last week when racing alone. She can make her presence felt.

Washington Heights went close in a hot contest at York latest and likes this trip. A repeat would give him a chance.

Lady Bullet has been keeping good company and was a good third in a Fairyhouse Listed contest over this trip.

She should be out of trouble up front and could hold on for a place.
