Construction Begins On Small Hydroelectric Dam in Afghanistan’s Kunar

The Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan said in a statement that the construction of a small hydroelectric dam has started in Kunar province.

According to the statement, the dam will be constructed in Shamkar Village, Khas Kunar district, Kunar province, at over 800,000 AFG.

According to the ministry, this dam will be completed in two months and be able to generate 15 kilowatts of electricity.

The project’s first phase includes conducting thorough surveys, evaluating the terrain, hydrological conditions and environmental consideration.

The project will support the expansion of numerous economic sectors, including manufacturing, infrastructure development, and agriculture, by offering a sustainable electricity supply.

The greater accessibility of energy will promote the growth of new companies and draw capital to the province. As a result, the local people will have more work options, fostering economic growth and lowering poverty.
